How a source-checked profile differs from an ad
A source-check date tells you something about information, not everything about a provider.
A useful trust label should help you ask what was checked, where the fact came from and what remains uncertain. It should not make an ordinary directory record look like a clinical accreditation. 01Find the source of the specific fact
Open the cited page and see whether it is the provider's official information or another identified source. Read what that source actually says about the field you are using.
A link to a network homepage may establish the organisation's identity without confirming a particular branch's hours. Ask whether the evidence is at the same level as the claim.
02Read the date as a past observation
A checking date records a point in time when information was reviewed. It does not freeze future hours, prices, staffing or service availability.
Write a private note: source checked on __; branch answer obtained on __. Keeping those dates separate prevents a historical source review from appearing to be today's telephone confirmation.
03Separate confirmation from quality
A provider may confirm its address or contact details without anyone independently assessing treatment quality. Likewise, a source-linked profile does not show that PAVI visited the premises.
Do not infer veterinary approval, a safety certificate or a superior ranking from a fuller card. The useful question is what evidence supports this exact fact, not how reassuring the badge feels.
04Recheck facts with immediate consequences
Before travelling, ask the actual branch about receiving the animal, the intended service and any current requirements. Before paying, obtain a quote and terms appropriate to the individual booking.
These direct checks are especially important when a page refers to a network or leaves a field unknown. Do not fill the gap from memory simply because another detail on the page was checked.
05Use corrections to improve the trail
If the linked source conflicts with the profile, record the exact field, proposed change and dated evidence. Use PAVI's correction route rather than describing an unsupported conclusion as a verified failure.
